The Vine Bridges of Iya Valley
This valley in Japan is famous for the several bridges made completely out of vine. These bridges have been around for hundreds of years but have since been reinforced with steel cables and new wood to preserve it. Nevertheless, crossing this bridge is no relaxing matter. Every step you take comes with the dreaded swinging sensation.
Deosai Bridge
Located in Pakistan, this bridge covers gravel, asphalt and rivers. It is made completely out of wood and runs at an average altitude of 13,500ft above sea level! Yikes!
Bamboo Bridge
This tiny bridge is the only thing that connects the city Kampong Chong in Cambodia with a nearby island. The thing is, the bridge is only useful during the dry months. When the wet season comes, everyone who lives on the island has to rely on boats.Eshima Ohashi Bridge
Bridge? More like rollercoaster. This bridge in western Japan connects the city of Matsue to Sakaiminato.Sunshine Skyway Bridge
This bridge in Florida is said to be the longest cable stayed bridge in the world. While it may not be too scary, it is spooky. Over 207 people have committed suicide from the middle since it’s reconstruction in 1987.
Shiniuzhai Bridge
The Suspension Glass Bridge in Shiniuzhui National Geological Park, China is not for anyone who suffers from vertigo. The floor is made out of glass and you can see all 590 ft below you. The bridge stretch 984 ft and was only opened in Sept. 2015.
Titlis Cliff Walk
The builders of this bridge claim that to cross it, you need “nerves as strong as the steel cables from which it hangs.” Of course the bridge is completely safe, but still suspends 1,500ft above a glacier in the Swiss Alps. Stomach churning to say the least.
